welcome to the captains log. this contains little experiments and explorations for my second semesters artwork.
may contain words of frustration, rants, and other abnormalities.
Don't take it too seriously.

Crochet
Please click on these for detail... it took me so long to do this! Not going to continue with my dream to crochet something from hair as it is virtually impossible. I think i will make lace instead i just need to buy a lace making THING.
I thought about crocheting thread from the hair, then making lace from that but i think it would look a little untidy, especially compared to other works made from hair that i have seen. BUT... those other works weren't looking for that feeling of abjection or repulsiveness, something i want to retain elements of, an excuse for sub-standard craftmanship

post title
I found these books with samples of hair colours during inorganic collection in mount eden what a find!!! possibly up there with the telephone, toaster and kettle that we use in our flat but not quite up there with the pink elephant watering can
and so
I thought i would rip them apart and play around with the little swatches of hair and i made this little doily shaped thing basically because one end of the hair is all shitty and covered in cardboard and glue and this is just what looked besticles.
I want to make a little hair sample book with hair from people, and instead of naming the colours 'intense blue black' etc i'll call them 'racist red' and 'sandy slut' or something to that effect.....yaya. just a side project i think beacuse although it wont take long to make it WILL take time to collect enough hair from people, and find people who will let me cut their hair. I could just sneakily cut hair but it could get me in to a bit of strife.

hello holga

bw, bought seven BW films @$4 and theyre CFUCKING41! oh well.... at least i can print them myself. I love this pedestrian crossing it says HECK and amuses me to no end. The other shot is a little street in Newmarket that looked all rustic and photo worthy sace the giant signs.. and the third is our flat in Ellerslie/Mt welly!

4sec exposure in my room again. Yellow flash pic of the boys on the couch, should have made it long exposure because you can hardly see it on the neg. funny fun fun.

in the mirror, first photo on the roll im suprised it turned out. The one of the tree is so nice, the colour, focus. everything BUT it need work on composition, i think these cameras take much better photos in sunlight.

what colour flash did i use in the kitchen.... wish i hadnt double exposed the shot of the clouds they would have looked nicer just as is.

Gus the succulent. Me and tim with a blue flash that turned the photo black and white :)
